There are many words in the English dictionary that are shared with several different meanings, and are easy enough to understand in whatever sentence they're added to. And there are words that take on a totally different meaning from one generation to another - you know, words such as 'sick' and 'wicked', '' and 'gay'. Even words such as Popular slang words that were 'hip' in one generation are totally unacceptable to the next generation, looked upon as though we older ones accidentally spit it out while chewing with our false teeth clicking madly. But there is one word I would hate to see wrongly translated. And that's the word Classy.
Classy seemed to be honoured once. Something society applauded, until lust was allowed to be fondled publicly and now it seems not as many are willing to waste time on Classy because Lusty is much easier to get hold of and one really doesn't need to pay for that sort of thing anymore.
I'm working on a novel where two women trade lives - one is based in this generation, the other a previous one. Each experience a total turn around in their lifestyle and, as yet, neither considers the other one's life and time to be the better one. But one thing came clear to me while writing this: Once a prostitute was paid for her services, but now we seem to be giving it a way for free.
"Ooh, yeah! Let's bring on the sexual revolution! Off we our bras, down with our knickers and f--- those who don't like it!" Oh, if only a woman truly knew what it was costing her generation, and that of her children, by selling herself for nothing.
If you desire to give yourself to whoever looks your way for next to nothing, or nothing, fine, you go for it. God knows I did many times during the course of my growing years. But you will regret it. You may be gaining sexual experience, you may be feeling popular by being used this way, and you may even be way up on the top of the list o, but what is it costing you? What is it costing your children?
I am a Christian, yes. This is a Christian's website, yes. But I'm not dead from the waste down. Not am I ignorant of the 'beauty' this world worships. But are you aware that there is more to you than physical attractiveness - or lack thereof?
Hey, I'm not judging you. Honestly I'm not. I get it. I know how good it feels to be wanted - even if it's just for one night...or less. I know what it is to have his hands on you and feel as though you have some sort of power over him, because of it. I get it. I do. Heck, I'm still a woman with needs and wants and open to temptation. Being a Christian doesn't mean I'm dead - or dead stupid.
